Digital learning and collaboration in the COVID-19 pandemic

Bürogemeinschaft Gauly & Volgmann (bgh.) has a long-standing experience in conceptualizing, moderating and documenting peer-learning formats on topics of integrated urban development. During the COVID-19 pandemic, physical exchange formats both locally as we as internationally are hardly possible. Therefore, bgh. has supported the City of Leipzig as well as the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in designing and implementing virtual formats by providing the following services:

  • Conceptualizing interactive and discursive formats that pursue clear goals and consider the participants’ individual challenges during the pandemic to ensure high practical relevance (residents, city employees, national ministries)
  • Organising events that are either fully virtual or hybrid: combining onsite working groups in several location in one virtual event
  • Identifying good practices, coordinating inputs, and providing templates for virtual exchange
  • Moderating events and ensuring smooth implementation (technology, chat moderation)

Moreover, bgh. has compiled a data base of webinars and tools  for cities that cover challenges of the COVID-19 response.
