Experts Fund for Municipal Partnerships Worldwide (Experts for partners)

The project „Experts Fund for Municipal Partnerships Worldwide (Experts for Partners)” is a joint project of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the Service Agency Communities in One World (SKEW) of Engagement Global.

As a project of German development cooperation, “Experts for partners” supports municipalities in Germany and partner countries in boosting their partnerships. The project assigns international and local experts and thus, makes a contribution towards improving the ability of municipalities to deliver services and demonstrate good local governance, making the cooperation structures of partner municipalities more viable and expanding the commitment of civil society and other relevant stakeholders.

Bürogemeinschaft Gauly & Volgmann (bgh.), in cooperation with Carsten Zehner, supports GIZ on the following topics:

  • Conducting appraisal missions in selected countries (virtual and/or on-site)
  • Methodological and strategic advice for the project
  • Operational support in the implementation of the acquisition strategy
  • Knowledge management and documentation of learning experiences

So far, Bürogemeinschaft Gauly & Volgmann has carried out appraisal missions for the following partnerships:

  • Khotyn/Ukraine – Teltow “Strengthening capacities in the preparation, acquisition of funding and implementation of development projects” (ongoing)
  • Tavush/Armenia – Landkreis Regen “Strengthening organizational capacities of the Tavush Destination Management Organization for tourism development” (2024)
  • Vanadzor/Armenia – Landkreis Regen “Supporting Vanadzor Municipality in developing its touristic strategy and profile” (2024)
