The project „Fachkräfte für kommunale Partnerschaften weltweit” (FKPW), Experts for municipal partnerships worldwide, is a joint project of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the Servicestelle Kommunen in der Einen Welt (SKEW) of Engagement Global.
FKPW supports municipalities in Germany and in the Global South in boosting their partnerships. The project assigns experts internationally and locally and thus, makes a contribution towards improving the ability of municipalities to deliver services and demonstrate good local governance, making the cooperation structures of partner municipalities more viable and expanding the commitment of civil society.
Bürogemeinschaft Gauly & Volgmann (bgh.), in cooperation with Carsten Zehner and Lukas Born, supports GIZ on the following topics:
- Conducting appraisal missions in selected countries
- Methodological and strategic advice for the project
- Operational support in the implementation of the acquisition strategy
- Knowledge management and documentation of learning experiences
Bürogemeinschaft Gauly & Volgmann has carried out appraisal missions as part of the project in Jakarta (Indonesia, digitalization of the administration), Yarinacocha (Peru; implementation of a climate protection program) and Beit Jala (Palestine; development of a municipal geographic information system).
