The Governance Support Programme (GSP II) of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH in South Africa makes an important contribution to the implementation and continuation of the South African National Urban Development Policy – Integrated Urban Development Framework (IUDF).
Important partners on the national level are the Department of Cooperative Governance (DCoG) and the National Treasury (NT), on the local level the City of Mbombela, Steve Tshwete Local Municipality, Stellenbosch Local Municipality, KwaDukuza Local Municipality, uMhlathuze Local Municipality, Polokwane Local Municipality as well as the municipal umbrella organisation South African Local Government Association (SALGA).
Bürogemeinschaft Gauly & Volgmann (bgh.) supports the Governance Support Programme (GSP II) in South Africa with the following services:
- Preparation and implementation of a study tour for high-ranking South African representatives from the national and local level on the topic of integrated urban development planning in Germany (September 2019)
- Participation in the 13th Federal Congress on National Urban Development Policy in Stuttgart (2019)
- Establishment of a national learning network “IUDF Learning Network”
- Implementation (and moderation) of meetings of the national learning network (Stellenbosch 2019, KwaDukuza 2020, Mbombela 2020)
