Mockau is a priority area of Leipzig’s integrated urban developement. Therefore, municipality and urban policy aim at increasing the sustainability and the qualities of the district Mockau. The neighborhood management Intigra+ Mockau is involved in the implementation of measures on behalf of the urban development concept Mockau 2030+. The Department of Housing and Urban Renewal of the city of Leipzig has initiated the “Quartiersmanagement Intigra+ Mockau” (neighborhood management Mockau) as part of the “Social City/Social Cohesion” program. The measure started in 2017 as a pilot project under the name “INTIGRA” and is continued up to date. Bürogemeinschaft Gauly & Volgmann (bgh.) has been commissioned with the implementation of the neighborhood management. Further information can be found here.

Please contact the INTIGRA+ Mockau neighborhood management if you
- would like to find out about the planned and ongoing projects/developments in the Mockau development area,
- are interested in exchange and networking with other actors (associations, social institutions, initiatives and other active people) in the social area,
- need support in the implementation of projects or measures for the district,
- would like to find out about existing funding opportunities for projects or measures for the district,
- have suggestions, ideas or other concerns that affect the quarter.
Funding of projects in Mockau
Small district projects can be supported with the Mockau “disposal fund” (Verfügungsfonds). Every year there are several deadlines for submitting applications to the Department of Housing and Urban Renewal. The current dates and the application form can be found on the City of Leipzig website. Alternatively, you can ask the Quartiersmanagement INTIGRA+ Mockau, who will be happy to advise you on the application.
Consultation Hours
Since October 10, 2023, the neighborhood management has been offering on-site consultation hours. They take place two times a month at the Mockau Library on the 1st floor (Essener Str. 102). Access is barrier-free, and the consultation hours are of course anonymous and free of charge.
As a tried-and-tested method of district communication, consultation hours provide the opportunity to come into direct contact with the citizens of Mockau. She offers:
- Networking (“Do you want to participate in the development of your district?”)
- Advice (“You would like to implement a project idea for Mockau and are you looking for support?”)
- Information (“Are you interested in what specific projects are planned in Mockau?”)

Together with the Office for Housing and Urban Renewal (AWS), bgh. is planning an information event on district development for the citizens of Mockau. “Neues in Mockau” is aimed at interested residents and stakeholders from the social area and aims to inform the public about current urban plans as well as projects and activities of the sponsors and to strengthen the exchange between the administration and the district.
Colorful Summer of Mockau
In 2024 the “Bunte Mockauer Sommer” took place for the seventh time, during which the green area in Essener Str. was used by the city of Leipzig, numerous local clubs and institutions with various activities for several days. For some impressions of the last BMS follow the link.
The idea for Bunter Mockauer Sommer arose from the desire to create a (temporary) meeting place for the people of Mockau and to establish a network between the facilities. At the festival you can find play and creative activities for children and young people, besides locals offer informations and discussions on relevant topics for the neighborhood as well as various cultural activities.
The next Bunter Mockauer Sommer will take place on the 15th to 17th of August 2025.
